Microsoft Teams is introducing a new admin policy setting that allows tenant administrators to generate 8-digit numeric-only passcodes for meetings organized by selected users or groups. Because numeric-only passcodes may increase the risk of unauthorized access, the setting includes a warning and requires explicit confirmation before it can be enabled. This update gives organizations more flexibility in meeting configuration while reinforcing awareness of the associated security tradeoffs. The feature is currently in development and is expected to roll out beginning March 2026 across Commercial, GCC, GCC High, and DoD environments.

Edge for Business extends its capability to deliver Intune App Protection Policies via Intune MAM. Organizations are enabled to apply data loss prevention controls to Edge for Business profiles even on devices managed by another tenant. This capability enforces Intune MAM policies—such as clipboard boundaries, watermarking, and protected downloads—within the Edge work profile, ensuring sensitive data remains governed by your tenant. When enabled, downloads initiated in Edge are redirected to OneDrive for Business instead of local storage, and leak controls for screenshots and DevTools activate when data protection settings are applied. This approach secures cross-tenant scenarios like contractors or mergers without requiring additional apps or disrupting the end user experience.

Microsoft Viva: Viva Glint – Navigation improvements in Reporting
Viva Glint Reporting users like managers and leaders will be able to retrace their navigation flow i.e. drill down and drill up in reports rather than lose their navigation flow within reports. Navigation improvements will replace “Go Back” to Reporting home page with an alternative clickable UX to enable users to go back to the last page of reporting they were in. In other words, this feature will cater to Back navigation improvements in Reporting.

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): People Skills – Expanded AI inferencing for E3/E5 users
People Skills is expanding AI powered skill inferencing to include Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 licensed users. Previously, AI powered skill inferencing was available only to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Viva licensed users. With this update, admins will have the option to turn on AI powered skill inferencing for Microsoft 365 E3 / E5 licensed users directly in the Microsoft 365 admin center. AI powered skill inferencing uses AI to automatically identify and update skills on users’ Microsoft 365 profiles based on their work activity from the Microsoft Graph. This control will be available to tenants with Copilot licenses.
