Microsoft Purview is expanding Endpoint Data Loss Prevention capabilities on Mac devices by increasing supported file types from approximately 40 to more than 100. This update brings endpoint coverage in line with protections already available across Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive, helping organizations eliminate gaps in sensitive data detection. Additional enhancements include improved detection of sensitivity labels, metadata-based classification, and support for formats such as PDF files. By extending DLP visibility and enforcement across a broader range of content, this update helps organizations reduce the risk of undetected data exposure and strengthen overall compliance posture. The feature is currently in development and expected to begin rolling out in April 2026.

SharePoint: Entra B2B integration for external sharing in OneDrive & SharePoint
OneDrive and SharePoint will use Microsoft Entra B2B as the invitation and authentication method for external users, replacing the legacy SharePoint One Time Passcode (SPO OTP) experience. External sharing will automatically create B2B guest accounts in your directory, delivering consistent external collaboration across Microsoft 365, stronger guest identity management, and modern security aligned with Microsoft Entra standards.

Microsoft Teams: Book future meetings directly from Teams panels
You can now make an upcoming meeting reservation from a Teams panel by browsing the calendar on the device and choosing any open time slot through midnight the next day. Add a guest during booking, streamlining ad-hoc scheduling and coordination. Available with Teams Rooms Pro and Shared Device licenses.

Microsoft Purview: Data Loss Prevention– Enhanced content extraction and file type coverage for DLP on Mac devices
With this release, the file type coverage to scan, classify and protect sensitive content on Mac devices with Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policies will increase from current ~40 file types to 100+ file types. This release will make the coverage of file types on endpoint consistent with other locations such as Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive. This will also include other enhancements like detecting label from pfile, detecting sensitive content in metadata, and detecting sensitive content in PDF forms.

Outlook: Improved handling of disallowed and failed email reactions
Emails with reactions disallowed will now see the Reactions button grayed out correctly. Additionally, when any attempt to react fails, the local update will no longer remain onscreen and be properly undone.

Microsoft Teams: Teams shared display mode and peripheral detection available for GCC-H and DoD environments
Shared display mode in Teams is now available in government CCC-H and DoD environments, enabling more seamless and private meeting hosting from your PC. Additionally, peripheral detection for bring-your-own-device spaces is available for inventory management and reporting through the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal.

Microsoft Teams: Private organizer and presenter chat for structured meetings and webinars on Teams Rooms on Windows

Teams Rooms on Windows now supports separate chats for event coordination and audience engagement in structured meetings and webinars. When a room joins as an organizer, co-organizer, or presenter, organizers and presenters – including external presenters – can communicate privately in the Event Group chat, while switching to a separate chat to engage attendees. This helps to improve backstage coordination, reduce in event friction, and deliver smoother, more professional live experiences. Available in Teams Rooms Pro–licensed rooms.
