Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is expanding its integration with Microsoft Defender XDR, surfacing IRM alerts directly in the unified alert and incident queue alongside signals from Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud Apps, and other solutions. Analysts will also gain access to IRM indicators and enriched events through advanced hunting using KQL queries, enabling deeper investigation of potentially hidden risky patterns in user activity. Additional exposure through the Graph API further extends the ability to correlate and act on insider risk data across the security stack. The feature can be enabled through the “Share data with Microsoft Defender XDR” setting in Insider Risk Management and is currently in development with an expected rollout beginning in June 2026.

Microsoft Teams: Entra passwordless resource account support for Teams Rooms on Windows devices
Teams rooms on Windows supports Entra Resource Accounts for secure, passwordless sign-in that separates device and user identities. IT admins can migrate to Entra accounts easily with the migration wizard, and track progress using a dashboard in the Pro Management portal.

Microsoft Teams: AI-generated meeting archive for knowledge retention
Admins can enable a tenant-wide policy that allows Copilot (and Facilitator) to retain key insights from meetings beyond transcript retention periods. This enables Copilot to continue answering questions about past meetings even after transcripts expire. Admins can also configure how long this AI-generated meeting archive is stored.

Before joining a meeting on your pre-join screen, you can test your microphone and speaker to make sure others will hear you clearly. Select Test mic and speaker to record a short audio clip and play it back. This helps you confirm that the right devices are selected and that you’ll be heard—and hear others—once the meeting starts.

Microsoft Purview: Insider Risk Management- IRM alerts in XDR
With this feature, IRM alerts and other supporting data will be available in the following Microsoft Defender XDR experiences:
1. IRM alerts will be surfaced in unified alert and Incident queue in Microsoft Defender XDR.
2. IRM alerts, Indicators and enriched events will be available in Microsoft Defender XDR advanced hunting. Analysts can leverage KQL queries to identify potentially hidden risky patterns in data security related user activity.
3. IRM alert, Indicators and enriched events will be exposed through Graph API.
This feature can be enabled through “Share data with Microsoft Defender XDR” within Microsoft Insider Risk Management settings
IRM data in Microsoft Defender XDR does not honor anonymization. This is to enable effective correlation of IRM alerts with alerts from other solutions in Microsoft Defender XDR platform (such as Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud apps, etc.).
Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Microsoft Teams: Spoken language detection is now automatic
Spoken language detection is now fully automatic. Teams will automatically detect each speaker’s spoken language and update it in real time as the conversation evolves. Manual spoken language selection will no longer be available. This applies to both live captions and transcripts when Interpreter is enabled or when multilingual speech recognition is turned on in meeting options, helping deliver more accurate language recognition and a more consistent multilingual meeting experience.
