GCC High Priority Update
Week of July 2, 2026
Microsoft 365 Copilot is bringing its PowerPoint capabilities to GCC High environments, enabling users to create, edit, and refine presentations through natural language directly inside their decks. Users can ask Copilot to generate slides, update content, improve layouts, and polish design while preserving existing formatting, structure, and branding — with brand kit integration available for applying branded templates and brand-approved images. For GCC High organizations that have been waiting on feature parity with commercial Microsoft 365, this update brings one of Copilot’s most visible productivity capabilities into the government cloud. The feature is currently in development and expected to begin rolling out in September 2026.

Microsoft Purview: Data Loss Prevention – Data Loss Prevention to safeguard sensitive information from external web search in Microsoft 356 Copilot and Copilot Chat
We are expanding Microsoft Purview DLP for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat to safeguard web searches containing sensitive data. This real-time control helps organizations mitigate data leakage and oversharing risks by preventing Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents from using sensitive data for external web search. This capability currently extends to Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents built in Copilot Studio that are published to Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Microsoft Purview: View only Role management enhancements
Microsoft Purview is introducing a new view-only role management role to give admins permissions to see all the member assignments in Purview and Defender portal. This addition will be added to Global Reader and Security Reader in Purview and Entra.

SharePoint: Neutral-themed SharePoint UI in Page Editing and Property Panes

This update is part of the SharePoint visual refresh and applies our new design language across the SharePoint page editing surfaces, helping create a more consistent, accessible, and modern editing experience.

Microsoft Teams: Enhanced cross-platform join via SIP for Teams Rooms on Android
Enable Teams Rooms on Android to join third-party meetings via SIP, delivering seamless cross-platform interoperability. This capability ensures users can connect to external meeting services directly from Teams Rooms, maintaining a consistent and reliable meeting experience across diverse environments. Available on Teams Rooms Pro license.

Microsoft Teams: Chat panel open by default in the gallery view on Teams Rooms on Android
The chat panel will open by default in gallery view, allowing participants in Teams Room on Android to quickly see ongoing meeting chat when they join. Admins can configure this default device behavior, and users can close the panel in one tap during meetings.

Outlook: Import support for data files in Outlook
This feature adds support for importing PST files into Outlook for Mac. Support for OLM data files will include both importing and exporting data.
