Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is extending risk detection to Microsoft Fabric by introducing ready-to-use risk indicators based on Power BI activity. Organizations can now incorporate these indicators into data theft and data leaks policies, capturing risky behavior in Power BI — such as unusual data exports or access patterns — alongside signals from other Microsoft 365 workloads. For compliance teams managing insider risk across an expanding data estate, this update closes a gap where business intelligence activity was previously outside IRM’s detection scope. The feature is currently in development and expected to begin rolling out in October 2026.

With this update, Insider Risk Management extends its risk detection capabilities to Microsoft Fabric products by offering ready-to-use risk indicators based on activities that may lead to a data security incident in Power BI. Organizations can use these new indicators in data theft and data leaks policies. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Express face enrollment makes it easier for users to create a face profile in Teams by using their camera during eligible meetings, after they opt in. Admins can enable or disable the feature for their organization.

Dynamics 365 Field Service: Bring project material plans into field execution
When the Field Service and Project Operations integration is enabled, material estimates created in a project plan can now create connected Work Order Products on the related Field Service work order. This allows project-planned materials to flow into Field Service without requiring project and field teams to recreate material lines, keeping both teams aligned on the same material plan. As before, Work Order Products can create material estimates when materials are added from Field Service during execution. Supported changes remain synchronized across the project task, work order, and material line, allowing material planning to begin from either Project Operations or Field Service while keeping planning and execution aligned.

Dynamics 365 Field Service: Book Work Orders with Multiple Requirements
Dispatchers can now select which resource requirement to schedule when booking a work order that has multiple requirements. The new Book experience is available from both the work order form and list view, and shows relevant details such as requirement duration, time windows, resource preferences, booking status, and links to active bookings. Work orders with a single resource requirement continue directly to the configured Schedule Assistant or Quick Book experience. The requirement picker is accessible, responsive, localized, and supports right-to-left languages.

It brings together insights into sensitive data exposure, oversharing, and protection coverage, helping security teams identify risks and assess progress toward a more secure Microsoft Copilot deployment. The new data explorer experience in Purview DSPM provides a centralized investigation experience that helps organizations understand where sensitive data exists across sites, review site-level access, and explore relevant data through preset views. It brings together sites, sensitive data, permissions, and preset views, to support more efficient investigations and reduce context switching.

Dynamics 365 Field Service: Manage rental service demand with work order requests
Rental organizations need to coordinate commercial rental activity, equipment availability, asset condition, and service execution across multiple teams and applications. Service needs can arise while equipment is in stock, in transit, at a customer site, or being returned, but those needs don’t always require an immediate work order. This feature connects rental operations in Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management with Dynamics 365 Field Service by introducing fleet items and work order requests for rental service scenarios. Field Service users can view relevant fleet, rental contract, location, movement, and asset information while service needs can be captured and reviewed before a work order is created. Work order requests provide a controlled intake and approval process, allowing teams to validate service needs before committing technicians, inventory, or scheduling resources. When approved, a request can create a Field Service work order while preserving the relevant fleet item, asset, and rental context as the work progresses. This connected experience gives rental, service, and operations teams better visibility and coordination across the rental service lifecycle while giving organizations greater control over when service work is initiated. The capability can be used with Field Service alone or with the combined Field Service and Project Operations solution.

Planner: Expiration of plans from meetings due to inactivity
Planner plans created from Teams meetings (via Meeting Notes or Loop) often remain unused long after the meeting ends. These inactive plans accumulate and clutter over time. This feature automatically expires and deletes meeting-created plans that have had no task activity for 180 days. Only the Planner plan is removed whereas the tasks in Loop and meeting notes stay intact.

Dynamics 365 Finance: Core finance – Improve financial journal processing and control
Finance teams rely on journals for high-volume accounting processes, where performance, accuracy, and visibility are critical to keeping financial operations moving. The new financial journal capabilities in Dynamics 365 Finance will provide a more scalable approach to creating, importing, reviewing, and posting journals, helping finance teams reduce manual steps and identify issues earlier in the process. Finance teams can work with customer and ledger account types, import journals and review errors without navigating to the Data management workspace, and preview intercompany and intracompany accounting, accruals, and allocations before posting. Related documents make it easier to trace transactions, while integration with advanced tax calculations supports applicable tax scenarios. Future-period accruals no longer post automatically, reducing the need to keep future periods open. Optimized financial dimensions and the Ledger posting rules framework are prerequisites for using these capabilities.

Microsoft Edge is changing how it selects the local network address reported to proxy auto-config (PAC) scripts and is adding administrator control over it. The default IPv4 and IPv6 probe destinations now match Chromium’s defaults. Administrators can override these defaults using the PacMyIpAddressIPv4ProbeAddress and PacMyIpAddressIPv6ProbeAddress policies when required by their network routing.
