GCC High Priority Update
Week of July 30, 2026
M365 Copilot can now reason directly over your organization’s Power BI data, pulling grounded answers straight from reports and semantic models without leaving the chat. Ask a natural-language question about a metric or trend and get an accurate answer sourced from your existing BI content with no switching tools or digging through dashboards. This closes a real workflow gap for teams who already lean on Copilot for quick answers but still had to break flow to check BI numbers. The feature is currently in development and expected to begin rolling out in August 2026.

Microsoft Teams: Improved organization for muted and meeting chats
Microsoft Teams automatically organizes your chats with new built in sections that help reduce clutter and keep conversations easy to find. Muted chats (on by default) are grouped together in a dedicated area, while meeting chats (off by default) can be collected into a single section for quick access. You’re always in control, as each section can be turned on or off based on your preferences. The new Meeting chats section will replace the Meeting chats filter, that was previously available at the top of the chat and channel list. Updated July 20, 2026: We have temporarily rolled back this feature. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Outlook: New Copilot entry point in Classic Outlook
We’ve introduced a new experience for Copilot in the apps—a consistent entry point across apps that sits above your work and understands the context beneath it. Rather than scattering touchpoints across the interface, it anchors Copilot as one connected system across Microsoft 365, surfacing relevant actions that help you stay in flow. With this release, we are rolling out this new experience – already available across other Outlook endpoints, as well as in Word, Excel and PowerPoint – to classic Outlook.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting toolbar redesigned
You can now customize the meeting toolbar by pinning, unpinning, and reordering controls to match how you work. Raise Hand is grouped under Reactions to reduce mis-clicks, and Leave is clearly separated on the right. It may feel different at first, but it’s designed to be faster and easier to use.

OneDrive: New Shortcuts folder option when adding shortcuts
OneDrive makes it easy to add shortcuts to the files and folders you use most. Now you can choose to keep those shortcuts neatly together in one place instead of mixed in with everything else. When you add a shortcut, you can send it to a dedicated “Shortcuts” folder rather than your OneDrive root. The folder is created automatically the first time you use it and is easy to spot, with a distinct color and building icon. The Shortcuts folder behaves like any other folder—move it, rename it, share it, or remove it whenever you like.
