GCC High Priority Update
Week of May 21, 2026
Microsoft Purview is expanding Data Loss Prevention enforcement to Microsoft 365 Copilot in government cloud environments, enabling real-time controls that prevent Copilot and agents from returning responses when prompts contain sensitive data. When a prompt triggers a DLP policy, Copilot is blocked from using that sensitive data for grounding in Microsoft 365 or the web — stopping potential data leakage at the point of interaction rather than after the fact. This capability extends to Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents built in Copilot Studio published to Microsoft 365 Copilot, giving GCC High organizations enforceable guardrails as Copilot adoption expands into regulated workflows. The feature is currently in development and expected to begin rolling out in June 2026.

Microsoft Purview: Data Loss Prevention for Microsoft 365 Copilot to safeguard prompts for government clouds
We are expanding Microsoft Purview DLP for Microsoft 365 Copilot to safeguard prompts containing sensitive data. This real-time control helps organizations mitigate data leakage and oversharing risks by preventing Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents from returning a response when prompts contain sensitive data or using that sensitive data for grounding in Microsoft 365 or the web. This capability currently extends to Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents built in Copilot Studio that are published to Microsoft 365 Copilot.ID: 561892 Release: Microsoft Purview – GCC, GCC High, DoD Tags: June CY2026
