Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal: Data Lifecycle Management- Introduction of secure workflow to bypass retention holds and delete content on OneDrive and SharePoint Online
We’re introducing a new capability in Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management to bypass retention policies and delete content from OneDrive and SharePoint Online before the hold or retention policy duration expires. This feature helps organizations manage Copilot-related artifacts such as Teams recordings and transcripts independently of OneDrive retention polices, so organizations can decide how long they want to keep and when to delete this content.
The feature includes support for simulation testing, audit, and disposition reviews, and introduces admin policy authoring flows. These flows are governed by Microsoft Purview role groups to enable the creation and enforcement of defensible deletion policies.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal: Changes to case creation process in Purview portal when confirming alerts from Defender XDR portal and content retention periods in cases
With this release, alerts confirmed from the Defender XDR portal (security.microsoft.com) will not result in automatic case creation in the Purview portal. To create a case, Insider Risk Management analysts or investigators must manually click on the “”Confirm all alerts & create case”” button in the Purview portal from the alert that was previously confirmed through Defender XDR. When a case is created for a specific user based on the generated alert, related content such as online files and emails, is made available in the Content explorer tab. Additionally, any new content that generates or adds to an alert is included in the Content explorer for review during up to the 30 days from the creation of the Case. After these 30 days, new content identified for the user based on alerts will NOT be added to the Content explorer. To access new content, the existing case must be closed and a new Case created.

SharePoint: Improved processing status experience for Content AI models in SharePoint Online
We’re introducing a new activity pane in SharePoint Online to help users track and troubleshoot Content AI model processing. Starting with document translation and autofill, users will be able to view real-time status (in progress, completed, failed) for individual files, bulk selections, or the full library. Completed status will include enriched details like language codes, glossary usage, and column extraction counts. This new pane will eventually replace the current processing status column, providing a more consistent and actionable experience.

Microsoft Teams: Block a user for your organization in GCC-High and DoD
We have decided not to release this feature at this time and will add a new item to the roadmap in the future. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. With the availability of the delete API (removeallaccessforuser API), it does not stop the malicious user from resending the message to the same victim. To help prevent that, a block user API will allow the admin to block the malicious user from reaching out again. To make this even more effective, we will utilize a similar feature as the allow/block list in federation to block the malicious user from the entire organization.
