There is an update coming to Microsoft Purview compliance portal for policy sync status. Coming in May 2025, solution admins will be able to know the policy sync status directly from the Policy page in Purview portal. This new feature will give users insight into whether policy changes have reached the target locations and users. This policy sync status feature is available for DLP (excluding endpoint policies), Information Protection, Data Loss Management, Records Management, Information Barriers, and Priva.

For Microsoft 365 E5 and Teams Premium customers, we are making it easier to leverage sensitivity labels from Microsoft Purview Information Protection to help set the right protection settings to meetings. Admins can now set a label inheritance policy for meeting, so that when an attendee shares a file that has a higher sensitivity than the meeting itself in meeting chat or via Live share, the meeting’s sensitivity can be updated either automatically or via a recommendation to the organizer, to match with the sensitivity of the shared file.

Microsoft Defender for Office 365: AIR Initiated Remediation Logging
The AIR attribution update will empower customers with enhanced insights by deciphering between remediations produced by AIR versus truly manual remediations initiated independently by SecOps teams. Presently, all actions produced by AIR and approved by SecOps are logged as manual remediations throughout the portal. With this update, messages that are remediated as a result of approval of an AIR action will be logged as SecOps approved automated actions.

Outlook: Show shared folders and mailboxes as accounts in the New Outlook for Windows
To enhance your experience in Outlook, we are introducing changes to how shared mailboxes and folders are displayed. Shared mailboxes and shared folders will now appear directly in your account list in the folder pane, alongside your primary account and other connected accounts. This improvement makes navigation more intuitive by treating shared resources as separate accounts, providing quick and organized access. As part of this update, we are removing the “Shared With” node from the folder pane.
