Commercial Priority Update
Week of January 15, 2026
Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is expanding insider risk management to include AI agents, recognizing their growing role as part of the enterprise digital workforce. As agents gain the ability to access data, execute actions, and make decisions at machine speed, this update introduces agent-specific risk indicators and scoring based on agentic activity. By correlating signals related to data leakage, IP exposure, and policy violations, organizations can extend existing insider risk governance models to non-human actors while maintaining privacy-by-design controls. This capability is currently in development and is expected to roll out in February 2026 for GCC, GCC High, and DoD environments.
