In this update, we are adding two new email indicators to Insider Risk Management. 1. Sending email with attachments to free public domains – This alerts when business-sensitive data is potentially leaked from a work email account to a free public domain email, potentially leading to a data security incident. 2. Sending email with attachments to self – This alerts when business-sensitive data is potentially leaked from a work email account to user’s personal email account or emailing self, potentially leading to a data security incident. Admins with appropriate permissions can enable these indicators from the settings page and use these new indicators in the data leaks or data theft policy template. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

The feature will expand upon the automated investigation and response (AIR) by enabling AIR to automatically remediate malicious entity clusters. AIR currently recommends actions for SecOps to approve or decline and this enhancement will allow customers to enable auto-remediation to allow AIR to act on recommendations and soft delete messages included in a malicious URL or malicious file cluster.

With this feature, IRM analysts can identify if the user being investigated has any compromised user alerts in Microsoft Entra. This will help them formulate the right response action, like escalating the Incident to SOC teams for quick remediation, etc.
Microsoft Entra offers two types of compromised user detections.
1. Sign in risk detections: compromise risk associated with a specific sign-in.
2. User risk detections: compromise risk associated with a specific user.
Insider risk management admins can opt into each of the above risk detections from Insider risk management global settings. Risk detections will be available in the indicator timeline within the alert investigation experience. Risk detections will not impact the risk score or severity of Insider risk management alerts.

With this update, all calendar events including incoming, outgoing, existing, and new are fully synchronized. This feature is being rolled out gradually. Outlook: Copilot can generate an audio overview of a linked file in email

Copilot in Outlook can turn a linked document in email into a dynamic audio overview, transforming it into a listening experience that’s easy to follow. To generate an audio overview in Outlook, hover over a linked file in email, then select ‘Generate audio overview’. Copilot will bring your content to life through a podcast-style discussion between two hosts. This capability is available in English only currently. #newoutlookforwindows
