Microsoft 365: SMTP onboarding to App Role Based Access Control
We’re simplifying how organizations grant applications permission to send email on behalf of mailboxes. Today, customers must manually assign permissions to each individual mailbox using PowerShell, which is time-consuming and inefficient. With this new capability, admins can assign the SMTP.SendAsApp role to an app through App Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), enabling group-based or scoped access to mailboxes. This eliminates the need for per-mailbox configuration and streamlines onboarding for SMTP clients using OAuth. It’s a scalable, secure, and modern approach to managing mailbox access for applications.

Often you may want to transition a conversation from an email thread to a meeting. Copilot helps you do this by being able to start scheduling right from the email conversation. It saves you time and effort by generating a meeting invite that’s ready for you to review and send. When you click on “Schedule with Copilot” a meeting form will appear with a Copilot generated meeting title, agenda, and conversation summary as well as a pre-filled attendee list from the email thread and an attachment of the original email thread. Microsoft Teams: Real-time notifications (Live Activities) for Teams meetings on iOS lock screen
We are not releasing this feature at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. iOS Live Activities integration for Teams meetings on mobile allows users to view the live progress of a meeting at-a-glance from their lock screen. Real-time notifications with Live Activities automatically update in real-time so users can see when the meeting has started, when it’s in progress, whether recording is on, when someone needs to be admitted from the lobby, and when the meeting has ended. Live Activities is for iPhones only (iOS16.1).

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Viva Connections cards in Microsoft 365 Copilots
After further review we have decided not to proceed with this change at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience. Microsoft 365 Copilot brings Viva Connections cards to conversations. When a card is relevant for a specific topic, the card will surface in the conversation chat and users will be able to interact with it directly from Microsoft 365 Copilot without interrupting the user’s flow.
