Teachers and Students Alike Benefit from Increased Access to Technology

GERMANTOWN, MD (PRWEB) JANUARY 08, 2015 – Planet Technologies, a Germantown-based company, in a partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education (MDSE), has developed a private and secure site through which students and their families can register and be ready to download Office 365 ProPlus at no cost.

The Planet Technologies-developed site allows students to install up to five copies of the latest Microsoft Office suite for their PCs and Macs and up to five copies for their tablets and phones including iPads, iPhones, and Android devices.

“We’re very proud to have a positive impact within the community where we work and live. It is a good feeling to help students gain easy access to technology that can improve their future,” said Scott Tucker, Planet CEO.

The site was developed as part of a joint Microsoft and MDSE initiative to introduce the Maryland Microsoft IT Academies which will provide 25 high schools with a digital curriculum and professional development for teachers and administration. The program offers a path for students to earn IT certifications for fundamental skills needed on the path to a career in technology.

Students and their families can download Office 365 ProPlus at the following Internet address: https://marylandaccess.education. For more information about Planet Technologies, visit www.go-planet.com.
