"Know Your Network" Assessment Workshop

Planet’s Know Your Network is an assessment that focuses on in-depth planning activities to help you prepare for delivering voice and video to end users. Our service will analyze your network for its ability to support high-quality voice and video so the best user experience can be delivered. The workshop covers detailed areas of the following:

Call Data Analysis

Analysis from the existing deployment will be collected and the Skype for Business Online Call Quality Dashboard will be used to analyze as much history as is available. This data will be analyzed for packet loss to correlate with network test results and focus attention on those components of the environment that need the most help.

Bandwidth Analysis

The demand created by the current or planned UC deployment will be analyzed using a detailed modeling tool, and the demand will be compared to the available bandwidth on access links and core links that are or will be carrying real-time media traffic in the existing or planned deployment. The tool will provide a gap analysis indicating which links are over- or under-provisioned for real-time media support. Results from the analysis will be provided in the assessment reports.

QoS Deployment Review

An analytical review of the enterprise Quality of Service (QoS) deployment will be conducted to determine if real-time media streams are being given appropriate priority in the per-hop forwarding behavior of each switch and router along the network paths used by these workloads.

Expected Outcome

Map out specific next steps and targeted deliverables, with developed plans that will drive immediate action and produce results, based on the findings of the assessment workshops.
